Baiyun Chemical 50-year limit test history review

The building curtain wall is the product of the development of modern science and technology, and it is the distinctive feature of the modern high-rise era. Various types of curtain walls can make a rich change in the appearance of buildings and achieve unique architectural effects, which are very popular with architects. Silicone sealant is the most important bonding carrier on the curtain wall structure. The weather-resistance problem during its use has always been a concern of the industry.

In 1997, Baiyun Chemical Co., Ltd. built a solid curtain wall that has been exposed for 50 years in the company's plaza, and regularly sampled and tested to obtain experimental data, setting a precedent for 50-year limit testing.

The test was carried out by the Guangdong Provincial Construction Engineering Quality and Safety Supervision and Monitoring Station to take a three-person safety test with a wind pressure of 6000pa, which has reached the national standard level. So far, the test curtain wall has undergone several sampling analysis, and has released the testing data for 2007 and 2012.

 

In 2012, Baiyun Chemical cooperated with the Institute for Aging of the Guangzhou Institute of Synthetic Materials Co., Ltd. to start the sample exposure experiment in the exposure test points of two extreme climate zones in Guangzhou and Xinjiang Turpan.

In September 2013, the 50-year limit test first publicly exposed base in Guangzhou

 

Xie Yufang, Director of the Aging Institute of Guangzhou Synthetic Materials Research Institute Co., Ltd., announced the results of the 50-year limit test of China's first silicone structural sealant. This is also the world's first structural sealant aging test report issued by a third-party testing agency. 

 

 In October 2013, the 50-year limit test Turpan explosion field ushered in the first inspection and inspection of industry experts, Turpan expedition field for the first time announced phased results.

In March 2014, the project team of “Surface sealant natural accumulation test data accumulation and anti-aging research” (abbreviation: silicone sealant anti-aging technology) consisting of the backbone technology of Baiyun Chemical and Institute of Aging was established. Based on the 50-year limit test, the project team is devoted to the study of the aging mechanism of new silicone sealants, the study of accelerated aging methods and the research of anti-aging technologies. At present, the project team has carried out several research methods for accelerated aging methods such as ozone resistance, high temperature resistance, heat and humidity resistance, salt fog resistance, low temperature resistance, mechanical fatigue resistance, high temperature and mechanical stress.

The experimental entity curtain wall is composed of two walls, one large and one small, and the small curtain wall is partially filled with sealant filled with mineral oil as a comparative curtain wall.

In September 2015, on the first anniversary of the completion of the curtain wall of the Turpan entity, the exposing base welcomed the second batch of expert missions.

 

In January 2016, the “2015 Silicone Sealant Aging Technology” project group meeting was held in 2015.

 

 

From May to June 2016, Baiyun Chemical participated in the first investigation of the existing curtain wall in Shenzhen and conducted systematic safety investigations on representative curtain walls of 16 different periods such as Shenzhen International Trade Building, Shenzhen Development Center, and Shenzhen Diwang Building.

In June-August 2017, Baiyun Chemical launched a systematic technology review visit to the existing curtain walls over the country for more than ten years. Covers more than 50 building curtain walls in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Qingdao, Xichang and Shenyang.
