I. Preparation and requirements before construction
The silicone weatherproof sealant should be used in an environment with a temperature of 4 to 40 ° C and a relative humidity of 40% to 80%. It cannot be applied during rain or snow. When the temperature and humidity are outside the above range, it is necessary to do a small area sealant test before construction to confirm whether it can be constructed. At the same time, the following preparations should be made before construction: adhesion and compatibility tests should be carried out on the materials in contact with the silicone weather-proofing sealant; confirm whether the selected silicone weather-proofing sealant meets the seam design requirements and whether it is within the warranty period.
Solvent recommendation: ethyl alcohol, acetone, isopropanol, dimethyl benzene. Method: "two-cloth" cleaning method consists of a solvent wipe followd by a dry cloth wipe to lift and remove the solvent and contaminants suspended in the sovent. Next step should be done in 60 minutes or it will be cleaned again.
It is confirmed based on the adhesion test result whether or not the primer is required. If necessary, apply the primer solution as required, apply a thin and uniform primer solution on the surface of the substrate to be bonded, and apply the sealant within 5 minutes after the primer is applied to ensure the best bonding effect.
3.Sealant joint preparation
Generally: the foam wall of the curtain wall is filled with closed cells. The diameter of the foam rod should be slightly larger than the width of the sealant joint (20%~25%), so that it can be fixed in the sealant joint to ensure the depth of the sealant joint. When filling the foam rod, avoid damage to it, so as not to deflate it, resulting in air bubbles in the sealant.
A protective tape is attached to the panels on both sides of the sealant to prevent the sealant from contaminating the panel surface during trimming.

4. Filling Sealant
Component silicone weather-proofing sealant can be extruded directly from plastic or sausage-type packaging using manual or pneumatic sealant gun.
